CHANGES TO THE SMART REWARDS PROGRAM AS OF 8/15/2012

Effective August 15, 2012, a number of changes are being made to the Smart Rewards program to make it more rewarding than ever.  The key changes are highlighted below.  Terms and conditions can be found here.

Online Account Registration

If you are currently a Smart Rewards member, but never registered your account online, you must now do so to be able to choose your rewards and fully participate in the program.  If you have registered your Smart Rewards account online, then you are good to go. Earning Points and Rewards

You still earn one point for every one dollar spent on eligible purchases.  You can continue to earn and accumulate points until you make a rewards selection online. 

How to redeem your Rewards:
1. Log-in to your online account on our website, our mobile app, or the in-store kiosk.
2. Select from our variety of reward options based on the number of points you have.
3. Purchase your reward item(s) on your next shopping trip, use your Smart Rewards account at check-out, and the reward discount will automatically be deducted from your total.

New Rewards

Now you have more reward options than ever! Select from dollar savings, fuel discounts, free offers, extraordinary values on items throughout the store and more!  Rewards now have different point values and Reward options change periodically, so check back often to see what’s new.

Redeeming Rewards

Simply present your Smart Rewards card on your next visit to redeem the reward you selected.

ENROLLMENT

What is Smart Rewards?

Smart Rewards is designed to recognize, reward and say thank you to our loyal guests. Each time you use your Smart Rewards card you will earn 1 reward point for every dollar you spend on eligible purchases, plus bonus points on specially marked items throughout the store. When you accumulate enough points you can go online and convert your points for rewards that are automatically credited to your account. In addition to rewards, you will also receive great offers, special savings, contest notices and more, all for just doing what you are already doing. Shop. Earn. Save. It’s that easy.

How do I enroll?

It’s easy. Stop by your nearest DFW Market Street and sign up at one of our enrollment Smart Rewards Kiosks inside the store. It takes just a minute to enroll, receive your cards/key tags and be on your way to earning your first reward.

Do I have to re-enroll if I am already a Smart Rewards member?

No. You do not have to re-enroll.  You do need to make sure you have an online account in order to redeem rewards.

Is my current Smart Rewards card still valid?

Yes. Your current card is still valid as is your alternate ID.

Who can enroll in Smart Rewards?

Smart Rewards is open to anyone who shops at Market Street in DFW. Market Street Team Members are also eligible to participate in the program.

What is an online account?

Your online account allows you to access all the features and benefits of the Smart Rewards program.  When you create your online account, you can manage your member information, check points, convert points to select rewards, track Smart Coupons earned, sign up for special offers, and more.

How do I set-up an online account?

If you signed up for Smart Rewards prior to August 15, 2012 and need to set-up an online account, log on to www.marketstreetdfw.com or visit our in-store Smart Rewards Kiosk and follow the instructions. You’ll need the number located beneath the barcode on your card or key tag to complete your enrollment and the phone number you provided when you enrolled. When you complete your enrollment online, we will automatically credit 100 Bonus points to your account.

If you signed up for a Smart Rewards card after August 15, 2012, you created your online account when you enrolled.

As of August 15, 2012, you must have an online account to be able to view, select and redeem your points for Rewards. Your online account will be set-up during the enrollment process. 

Why do I have to have an online account?

Beginning August 15, 2012, we’re giving you even more Rewards from which to choose.  However, you must have an online account to be able to convert your points for Rewards.

I think I already have an online account. Do I need to create a new one?

If you already created an online account, there’s no need to create a new one.  Your account profile will reflect all the new features and benefits of Smart Rewards starting August 15, 2012.

When I enroll in Smart Rewards, why do I need to provide you with my address?

Our program is household-based, so we need to know which cards belong to which households. One way we may communicate is through customized offers sent through the postal service. You can always control if, how, and when we communicate with you. Once you set up your Smart Rewards account online, you have the option of choosing how you want to receive communications from Market Street. You can select postal mail, e-mail, or even text messages. If you don’t want us to contact you at all, you can “opt-out” of receiving communications at any time. Just keep in mind that if you do, you won’t receive any of the special offers, savings, and other information that are benefits of being a member.

Why do I receive a message such as my account is invalid or my phone numbers don't match when attempting to create my online account?

If you enrolled in Smart Rewards within the last 24 hours the system may not yet recognize your account. If this is the case, please try again a little later. If not, please contact Guest Services at 1-855-762-7880 for assistance with your account.

POINTS

When can I start earning points?

You can start earning points the first time you use your enrolled Smart Rewards card or key tag. Just present the card or provide your alternate ID to the cashier when checking out and start earning your rewards for any eligible purchases -- it's that simple.

How will I earn points?

You earn points just by shopping at Market Street and using your Smart Rewards card:  one point earned for every one dollar spent on eligible purchases at Market Street in DFW.

What items qualify for earning points and what items don’t?

You will earn points on all in-store purchases except the following items:
  • Fuel
  • Gift cards
  • Tobacco
  • Federal, state and local taxes
  • Money orders and funds transfers
  • Utility payments and comparable items and transactions
  • Lottery tickets
  • Returns, credits and refunds
  • Coupons, discounts and other promotional offers
  • Postage stamps
  • Any other products sold at face value as a convenience for our guests

Why can I not redeem rewards for certain items?

We cannot reward certain purchases such as beer, wine and tobacco because of state law, so Smart Rewards points cannot be used in connection with purchasing these products. Please note that Market Street reserves the right to exclude additional items at any time during the program. Points may be deducted for the equivalent amount of any returns or credits. Points are earned on out-of-pocket prescription costs only. Points are not applicable to prescription drugs paid for in whole or in part by any insurance plan, federal or state government programs (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid).

How do I know how many points I have?

Every time you make a purchase with your Smart Rewards card, simply check your receipt to see how many points you earned for that transaction. Your receipt will also show  how many you’ve accumulated to date as well as any points that are due to expire.  Also, once you’ve created your online account, you can log on any time to check your points.

How long does it take for my points to show up online after I have made a purchase?

Please allow approximately 1- 2 hours for points to be added to your online account. If you have just enrolled in-store, please allow up to 24 hours after for your points to show up on your online account. Again, you must first complete your enrollment online at www.marketstreetdfw.com to view your points.

If I forget my Smart Rewards card, can I still earn points?

Yes. When you enroll in Smart Rewards, you will be asked to provide a phone number that you can also use as your alternate ID at checkout, in case you don’t have your card or key tag. Provide this phone number to the cashier at checking out, and you’ll get full credit for your transaction, just as if you had scanned your card or tag.

Is there a limit to how many points I can earn?

There is no limit to the number of points you can earn.

Is there a limit to how many points I can redeem at one time?

There is no limit to the number of valid points you can redeem at one time.

What is a Smart Buy and How Do I Earn Points with Smart Buys?

As of August 15, 2012, we’re adding hundreds of ways to earn points even faster with Smart Buys!  When you use your Smart Rewards card and purchase a Smart Buy item, you’ll earn anywhere from 25 to 500 bonus points.  You’ll find Smart Buy items throughout the store - just look for the Smart Buy tags on the shelf. Each tag indicates the number of bonus points earned for the purchase of that item.  Smart Buys help your earn more Rewards faster!

Do Smart Rewards points expire?

As of August 15, 2012, points and bonus points will expire 12 months from the date earned, at the end of the month. Smart Rewards points earned on or before August 14, 2012 will expire August 31, 2013.

REWARDS

How do I choose, receive and use my Rewards?

Simply go to www.marketstreetdfw.com, log onto your Smart Rewards account, and click on the “Choose Your Reward” tab.  If you don’t already have an online account, just follow the simple instructions to create one. You can then select from the current available Rewards. Simply click to add a Reward to your account. When you do, your points balance will be automatically deducted based on the Reward selected. You can redeem your reward on your next visit to Market Street.

What happened to the $5 Savings Reward I earned automatically for the Fuel Discount I selected?

Beginning August 15, 2012, we’re giving you even more Rewards from which to choose including the $5 Savings Reward and even more Fuel Discount options.  However, Rewards will no longer be automatically loaded to your account. With more Rewards to choose from, you must log in to your online account to view the available Rewards and make your selection.

If I earned a $5 Reward before August 15, 2012, can I still use it?

Yes. It will be available until its expiration date. Log in to your online account to view the expiration dates.

When do my Rewards expire?

Rewards will expire 60 days from the date the reward was selected.

Why is my Savings Reward not good on certain items?

By law, we are prohibited from offering a discount on certain items, including beer, wine, and tobacco.

Do I have to have my Smart Rewards card to receive my Fuel Discount?

If you are paying at the pump, you must swipe your card through the card reader at the pump, or enter your member ID number (found on the back of your card or key tags) to receive your Fuel Reward discount. If you are paying with the attendant and don’t have your card, you can provide your member ID number from the back of your tag or your alternate ID (phone number) to receive your discount. The Fuel Discount can be redeemed at any DFW Market Street Fuel Station.

Why do I have to go online to select a reward?

Because we are offering so many more Reward options (up to 16 at a time) you must go online, use the Smart Rewards Kiosk or the mobile app to select your desired Reward.

Can I redeem multiple rewards at once?

The Smart Rewards program is designed to make it easy for our guests. If you have accumulated more than one Reward, you can redeem them at the same time. However, Fuel Discounts cannot be combined and must be redeemed one per fill-up.

What is Coffee Rewards and how do I join it?

Just buy a cup of coffee or tea at Market Street with your Smart Rewards card and you will be automatically enrolled to earn Coffee Rewards.  Once you buy 10 cups, your next cup is free.  Keep track of your Coffee Rewards on your receipt or in your online account.

COMMUNICATIONS AND INFORMATION

How do I know what is going on with the program or get the most up-to-date information?

We communicate program information in a number of different ways:

You can visit www.marketstreetdfw.com to access Smart Rewards online.

If you’ve created your online account with a valid email address and opted in to receive email from us,  you can be assured of receiving the most current information about the program. You can also use your online account to check your points and rewards, and receive special offers and values just for members.

Can I access my Smart Rewards account online and in-store?

Yes. Once you have completed your Smart Rewards enrollment online at www.marketstreetdfw.com, simply log in and enter your user name and password to access your member page. You can also access your account information in-store by visiting our Smart Rewards Kiosk. Simply scan your card or key tag, or enter the user name and password you created online to access your account.

What can I do at the in-store kiosk?

Each store has a Smart Rewards Kiosk where guests can:

  1. Enroll in the Smart Rewards program
  2. Create an online account
  3. View/update their Smart Rewards account information, check points, offers, and select from available Rewards

Can I use the mobile app to convert points to rewards and view my account?

Yes.  The mobile app will offer the same functionality as the website for your online account.

How do I create my online account?

It’s easy and takes just a minute.  Simply go online or visit our in-store Smart Rewards Kiosk and click on the “View Account” button.  Follow the instructions, complete the information required, submit, and you’re done.  It’s that easy.  And when you do, we’ll add 100 Bonus Points to your Smart Rewards account!

How do I view my online account?

Simply go online or visit our in-store Smart Rewards Kiosk and scan your Smart Rewards card, or login with your user name and password. If you don’t have an online account and are using one of our Smart Rewards Kiosks and have not created your online account, you will be prompted to create one.

What happens if I have a new address, phone number or email?

You can change your mailing address and other information by:

  • Updating your profile at www.marketstreetdfw.com,
  • E-mailing us at guestservices@unitedtexas.com, or
  • Contacting Smart Rewards Guest Services toll free at 1-855-762-7880.

How can I update my password?

Visit www.marketstreetdfw.com and go to Smart Rewards. On the login page in the upper right corner, click “Forgot Password" and follow the instructions to create a new password.

How can I update my email?

Visit www.marketstreetdfw.com and log into your online account.

I am not receiving my Smart Rewards email?

Do you share my personal information with anyone, including my transaction history?

United Supermarkets, L.L.C. will not share any of your personal information with any third parties, except to the extent necessary to administer the Smart Rewards program. United Supermarkets, L.L.C. does not knowingly sell, license or rent any guest information to outside parties for any purpose. Is there someone I can speak with if I have questions?

Sure, you can always stop by your nearest DFW Market Street and visit Guest Services. You can also contact our Smart Rewards Guest Services line toll free at 1-855-762-7880.

Can I exit the program or stop communications?

Yes, you can do so at any time. If you decide to end your participation or want to stop receiving promotional communications, you can do one of the following:

  • Update your profile at www.marketstreetdfw.com. Remember, you must first complete your enrollment online before you can access your information.
  • E-mail us at guestservices@unitedtexas.com,
  • Contact Smart Rewards Guest Services toll free at 1-855-762-7880, or
  • Visit Guest Services at your local Market Street.

SMART REWARDS CARD

If I forget my Smart Rewards card, can I still earn points?

Yes. When you enroll in Smart Rewards, you will be asked to provide a phone number that you can also use as your alternate ID at checkout, in case you don’t have your card or key tag. Provide this phone number to the cashier at checking out, and you’ll get full credit for your transaction, just as if you had scanned your card or tag.

What if I lose my Smart Rewards card? How can I get a new card?

Visit Guest Services at any DFW Market Street to let them know your card has been lost. They will help you re-enroll and obtain a new card. Any points on your account as of the time you report it missing, can be transferred to a new account. The points accumulated on your lost card will appear on your new account.

If I lose my Smart Rewards card, can anyone get my personal information?

No. To access your member information online, you must provide the user name and password for that account. Please do not share your password with anyone.

Can family members use my card or should family members get their own card?

Any family member can use your card. Upon enrollment, each account receives one Smart Rewards card and three key tags for multiple people within the family to use. Plus, at enrollment you should have designated a phone number, which can be used in lieu of your card or key tag by any member of your family.

If you ever need an additional account and card/tag set for your family, enroll at the Smart Rewards Kiosk for another account and then ask a Guest Services representative to link your new card number to your original account. Please note that when linking accounts, you must have the original account number to which you want to link your new account. There is a limit of three additional accounts that can be added to any one account. Please allow 1-2 business days for a new account to be associated with the original account. Also, please note only members of the same household can link accounts or combine points.

Can I combine my account with my spouse’s account?

Yes. You may combine your account with your spouse’s or any other family member’s account living in the same household. Simply visit Guest Services in-store and let them know you would like to combine accounts. Both account holders need to be present with his or her Smart Rewards card or tag and a driver’s license or other form of identification to combine accounts.

Do I have to have my Smart Rewards card to receive my Fuel Discount?

If you are paying at the pump, you must swipe your card through the card reader at the pump, or enter your member ID number (found on the back of your card or key tags) to receive your Fuel Discount. If you are paying with the attendant and don’t have your card, you can provide your member ID number from the back of your tag or your phone number/alternate ID to receive your discount. The Fuel Discount can be redeemed at any DFW Market Street Fuel Station.

Is my Smart Rewards card good at all Market Street stores?

Your Smart Rewards card is good only at DFW area Market Street stores. Locations outside the DFW area are excluded from this promotion at this time.

Do I have to use my card to get weekly sale prices?

No. Smart Rewards is designed to recognize and reward our guests for shopping at Market Street. You don’t have to be a member or use your card to get our weekly ad prices. On occasion, we may offer specific deals and special values only for Smart Rewards members; however, these are always in addition to the weekly sale prices available to all our guests.

COUPONS

Can I use manufacturers' coupons when I'm shopping with my card?

You can always use coupons when you shop at Market Street; however, your points will be calculated on the purchase total of eligible items after your coupons have been deducted.

Can manufacturer coupons be added to the card?

At this time, manufacturer coupons cannot be added to the card and will need to be printed.

How can I receive digital coupons from Market Street?

Currently, digital coupons, including Smart Coupons, are only available to Smart Rewards members that have chosen to receive email from Market Street. Guests who are not members in Smart Rewards will still need to print their coupons.

Do I have to print anything?

No. Digital offers do not have to be printed in order to be redeemed. There’s no paper, no printing, no clipping!

Do I have to bring anything to the store?

With digital coupons, you do not have to print anything. You don’t even have to bring your card if you have enrolled with a phone number as an alternate ID.

How do I redeem my offer?

Simply present your Smart Rewards card or use your phone number at check out. It’s that easy.

Can I redeem a digital coupon more than once?

Digital coupons can only be redeemed one time per Smart Rewards card.

When I click the link to add the coupon to my card, I get a message that the offer has already been loaded to my card. What does that mean?

Digital coupons can only be added to a Smart Rewards card one time. If you received this message, the offer has already been added to your card. You can log into your online account to see what offers are available on your card.

Do the digital coupons expire?

Our digital coupons expire at different rates, depending on the offer. When you add the coupon to your card, the expiration date will be on the confirmation page. You can also see the expiration dates on the Smart Coupon tab of your online account.

Can I print a list of the coupons on my card?

When you log into your online account, you can print a list of all of the digital coupons on your card.

How long does it take until my coupons are active on my card?

Coupons are generally available within a few minutes but can take up to an hour before they can be used in the store.

Can I use my digital coupons at any Market Street store?

Yes. You can use your digital coupons at any DFW Market Street.
